Red Bull: Off The Roof

Illustrating a visual style

Red Bull, the energy drink company organises a music fest every year called ‘The Red Bull Bus Tour’. When they approached us for two consecutive years, 2013 and 2014, to make their key visual for the event, we were very excited!

The Red Bull Tour Bus has been described as ‘a swag-a-delic gig machine that travels across the country spreading the joy of awesome music’. The tour includes a part-stage, part-bus that has by now travelled over 60,000 km across the country, entertaining more than 3,50,000 fans since 2013. Some of the brightest and the greatest artists in the country have performed atop the bus which has by now see over a 100 Indian acts across different genres being performed. 

The brief that we were given was simple and clear. We were asked to make an illustration depicting the real scene and energy of the event.

We made the tour bus, itself, the key visual element surrounding which the rest of the illustration would revolve around.  Overall, for both years, we wanted our illustration to capture the true vibe of any and all music festivals in the country!

The key visual illustration was further adopted by Red Bull into many of their collaterals, both online and offline. The illustration was used in various sizes and forms like posters, banners, hoardings, advertisements, social media posts, and more.
